Burrata Prosciutto Pizza

Listen, straight up - this is the best “make at home” pizza you’ll ever make. Ever.  It punches you in the face with its amazing-ness. Seriously! Adding prosciutto to pizza is not that big of a deal. I know. I get it. But I read on What’s Gabby Cooking that frying basil leaves will change your life. And it did!

Frying basil leaves turns the delicate leaf into a glossy yet crispy delicious topping to add to your pizza. It takes 30 seconds, so anyone can do this!

Burrata cheese is one of my preferred cheeses for pizza. It’s so super creamy, it crushes mozzarella;)  Grab some burrata the next time you’re at the grocery store, you won’t regret it!

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven according to package directions
  2. Heat up olive oil in small pot; once oil is aromatic drop in the basil leaves and fry for about 30 seconds. Remove and set on paper towel to dry
  3. I like to brush a tbsp of basting oil onto the crust before the sauce but it’s entirely optional! Spread tomato sauce all over pizza crust. Put in heated oven for half the required baking time. (I heated mine for about 3-4 mins)
  4. Remove pizza crust from oven and gently pull apart the burrata cheese and place the dollops of cheese all around the pizza. Put back in the oven and cook for the remainder of cooking time. A good way to make sure it’s cooked enough... Burrata should have spread;)
  5. Remove from oven, place prosciutto slices on pizza, then add basil leaves. Sprinkle with pepper and red pepper flakes. Cut up into slices and enjoy!
