Baked Figs with Candied Pecans & Honey

Impress your friends with this fancy appetizer and don't let them know how easy it was to make!   Seriously, this takes about 20 minutes to prepare and bake but it looks like you've spent hours in the kitchen. And that's what it's all about, right? Appearances! Just kidding, sort of...not really. Figs are sweet and unique tasting so pairing them with the dryness of goat cheese and the crunch of pecans is perfection.

Ingredients

  • fresh figs
  • 1/3 cup goat cheese
  • 2 Tbsp crushed candied pecans
  • 3-4 Sage leaves; chopped *optional
  • honey

First, cut off the stems. Then slice an "x" on the top half of the fig. Place in an oven safe dish or pan.

Next, put 1/3 cup goat cheese in a plastic sandwich bag and snip off one of the bottom corners. Now you can pipe the cheese into the figs.

Last, place figs in the oven and broil on High for 5-8 minutes. Remove from oven, sprinkle crushed candied pecans and chopped sage onto the figs. Then drizzle the honey all over. Serve immediately.
